This year, the Ottawa JimiCup is pleased to announce the addition of the Canadian squirt team trials for the 2003 Worlds in Graz, Austria. These will be held on Monday, August 5th, and will be an eddyline competition scored under a new set of criteria developed by squirt boaters at the 2002 Pre-Worlds. To view the scoring system, click on the "Squirt Rules" button on the menu to the left.

Trials will start promptly at 10:00AM, beginning with a competitors briefing, and moving on to Women's preliminaries, Men's preliminaries, and then finals for both classes. There will be a short break for lunch between prelims and finals.

There will be a entry fee of $25.00 Cdn. for the competition, payable at the Jimi Cup; this will be going into a fund to help the Canadian team get to Austria and show the world what a beautiful and dynamic sport squirt boating is!

This event is open to squirt boaters from all nations, not just Canadian paddlers. The highest-scoring Canadians will be the ones selected for the 2003 team, but all paddlers are welcome to jump in and strut their stuff. Everybody knows squirt boaters can get down; now we can show them that we can dance, too!

Interested squirtists are encouraged to register prior to the event, so that we can get an idea of how much time will be needed to complete the trials, how much lunch will be required, etc. Register through this site via the the "Register Online" button to the left of the screen. For those unable to register online, last-minute registration will be available at the Ottawa JimiCup.

Hope to see you all out for what will undoubtedly be a fun and flashy event!
